If you change your password while connected to the network on your office computer, the password on your laptop does not automatically receive this change. When this happens, follow these steps to sync the laptop password with your network password while working remotely. (Note: if you want to do this when you have your laptop in the Township office building, click here for modified directions.)
- Log into laptop with old password.
- Connect to the VPN via NetExtender on the laptop with new password.
- Once connected to the VPN, press Ctrl-Alt-Delete on laptop.
- Click ‘Lock’ to temporarily lock your computer.
- Log back into laptop with new password (while your computer is locked, but connected to VPN, it will download/see your new password).
- Now, when you shutdown your laptop (or disconnect from VPN), the local password installed on the laptop will match your new network password.
Note: if you use your laptop to change your password, while connected to the VPN, then this sync will happen at the same time.
